Jack your vette is really cool and being in the business I can tell you are very meticulous and really know perfection. Your computer systems are at the same standard as your vette it seems. I bought a P90 and I am selling my Coolpix 8700 as a result of this thread and want to thank you for the great job you have done. I am just getting back more into the hobbie as I have time due to an illness. I eventually want to pick up a dslr and will make a point of asking your opinion if it's ok when it is time to do so.

I just got an 30 year old SMC Pentax-M 50mm f 1.4 today for my Pentax K10D.
I took some hand-held shots with the Nikon P90 of it.
Came out well I thought...see pics below.

Here are two shots with the Nikon P90 with outdoor lighting of my Pentax w/
Tamron AF 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro Ultra Zoom lens. .

Congratulations, Jack-

The Pentax 50mm F 1.4 is a very sought after lens. I am sure that it will do very well on your Pentax K-10 camera. Please show some photo samples when you have the opportunity.

I have been following the introduction of the new Sony HX-1 camera. www.dpreview.com has done a professional review on the HX-1 and www. dcresource.com will have another professional review ready for us by the end of the month.

The photo samples that I have seen thus far, are indeed rather impressive. The clarlrity and the sharpness of photos that I have seen thus far come close to, but, of course, do not exceed that fabled consumer level DSLR cameras in terms of image quality.

It will be interesting to follow the photos from this very new camera that competes directly with the CMOS imager based Canon SX-1 camera.

I considered the the new Sony HX-1 camera when I bought the Nikon P90 and the deciding factor for me was the $140 difference & longer zoom. (I ended up paying $360 for the Nikon). Had it been $400 like the Nikon, I may have gotten it as I really did like the Sony H50 I had... but still the x24 is pretty nice to have! No regrets on the Nikon P90 so far.
