Id say the sun shining helped out a bit. The real test will be for a night game under lights. Next are some shots from the sports mode during the game.

backofthehill - these sports shots are great -- will be interested to see some night shots for sure. I think I may be choosing the Nikon... just a little leary about indoor pix (family functions, etc)

Icebluess, You will be able to take great shots of running with the sports mode. Hand held, shaking hands, no dramas.

backofthehill & Icebluess - I to want this for sports (my son's football games) of which many will be at night (this fall).

Also still worried about low light/indoor pix. Icebluess.. I've seen some of your indoor music/club pix... they don't look bad at all... but was it like 2 out of 50 that turned out?

Any input from either of you on indoors/low light would be cool. I mean... I know I can't expect the world, but if I go to a bday party (at night)... or some party or club... should I not even bother to bring the thing? If so... seems a bit too expensive for that...

I keep seeing excellent outside pix (with ideal lighting)...

I'll just let you guys know, that thanks to this thread (especially jack55), you helped me make the right decision with purchasing the Nikon p90! I just got it yesterday, and I already adore it!

My favorite shot so far....

I was bored, waiting for my grandma to finish shopping, so took a close-up of a shirt I was about to buy.

Nicely done, Schwingaway-

The exposure and focus are right on the money.
