Esp since it ticks the moment I turned it on, that i returned it. I started to look at other cameras (sony Hx1, canon g10, and sony h20) but it didnt have the same feel as the p90 so I ended up looking at the P90 @ various locations and different stores and they all ticked! I've even called nikon and the lady said there should be 'no ticking' so either she didnt hear it (since most people didnt notice it until i pointed it out) or she thought i had a defectinve one and return it.

after asking around various sales people and googling it, it came down to it being a part of the camera.. so i went to best buy and the guy seemed to fix the ticking and its on sale so went ahead to re-purchase the p90 but lo and behold once i got home and did whatever that guy did the ticking wouldnt go away... i've accepted the ticking is part of the camera and thus nicknamed the camera "my little bomber" but other than that I absolutely love the camera and greatly enjoyed everyones comments and photos!

so unless i'm the only crazy one with the tick or if there is a way to turn it off please post- but other than that my camera searching has come to an end.... for now
Hello. This is my first time in, and this is the only place where the ticking for the P90 has been mentioned. The ticking sound is the auto shut off timer. Why it makes that noise is beyond me, but other cameras apparently do the same thing. I've seen posts about Olympus and Canon cameras ticking. To test this: set your auto shut off to 30 secs. and 30 ticks later there will be a louder tick and the on/off LED will be blinking.

That time is required to safely secure the IS system.

lucianmarza-

Welcome to the Forum. We're glad you dropped by.

The attached photo of Santa looks pretty good to me. The reds are displayed nicely. Exactly what is the problem you are having with red color. Plrase be rather specific.

Have a great day.

You can play with the WB if your not happy with the color or tone, but like Sarah says, it looks fine to me too.

Ya, I've already played with the With Balance, but still not happy 100 % ..Anyway, I observed that the RED colour is different from a place to an other(indoor)..So for the moment i'll try take more pictures trying to learn more about the camera.I can wait the summer..A lot of light and live colours.
