Those two, especially the first one is a tad out of focus. You need to make sure the petals are in focus, otherwise it throws off the whole picture.

Default action shot reviews of P90?

Hi all! Great information! Anyone have any suggestions or thought/reviews of action shots? I have sports-y kids & need something to keep up with them playing hockey, diving, batting etc...

What's your experience been with this camera & these type shots?

Thanks!
Tam

Are you looking at indoor hockey and indoor high diving? If that's the case then you are not going to get the best results as you would need more specialist lenses on a dSLR.

Mark is 100% correct-

The type of photo environments you describe are going to take a DSLR, and some "bright" (large aperture) lenses.

Have a great weekend.

Hi Sarah & Mark, Looking at indoor hockey, little league, standing rink side. Diving is just my little ones outside at our backyard pool. Bright sunlight. Image quality is important. My fuji finpix s1000 has disappointed me.

Hi Sarah,
When you say bright, could this be a d5000 with the 18-105mm lens?

Bright would be like a 2.8 300mm lens
