I think the first pic is nice but you need to use sunset... and you may need a tripod ...

that picture was taken as point and shoot..that was straight out of the box...

I have been reading everones suggestions, it is fun everytime I can try something new!

Your posted photo is quite nice but it needs to be leveled and if you had used a smaller aperture you could have also gotten the rocks in focus as well.

Sarah,

Could you please give some advice to a newbie? I'm trying to get some clear and very close macros of my watch. I'd like to get a very close picture of a section of the dial, but the best I can do is a macro of the entire watch case.

Any advice?
