Default Nikon 885 problems??? Recalled?

I have heard that there has been problems with the Nikon 885 e.g. reliablility and crashes....... I live in the UK and I have been going around shops and none of them have the 885 in stock and they say that they have not had them for months. Is Nikon fixing them and maybe because of this they are hard to get hold of??? Has anyone heard anything?

I recently had to have my 885 fixed, which took 4 weeks. I heard that this is because all spares are being used in new cameras.

The camera seems fine now and I have no regrets about buying it.

I had the "system error" message when connecting to another laptop. Since then, my coolpix 885 id dead. R.I.P.
However, the camera was GRATE!

Now, bought myself SONY F707 which is close to pro cameras. It could be the reason why you heard of that Nikon recalls the cameras.

Good luck.
