Default P90...These photos stink, could they be worse?

these were taken on P setting with flash for the indoor photos, I did no adjusting of aperature or anything else...I'm so very discouraged. I sent back my Fuji FinePix S1500 b/c I wasn't happy with the level of noise in the pictures (still shots, indoors) but these are not significantly different. I'm afraid the problem is me. I really want to take good pictures of my kids & family but having them pose & be still all of the time just takes the fun out of it for them.

Thanks for giving these a look,
Tam

There are problems here but basically caused by lighting limitations.

Photo 1, without seeing the original this looks OK.

2 and 3, limitations of shooting in low light, the settings are not ideal but even if you maximised the settings used you still won't get good shots without a dSLR and a quite specialist lens.

4 A bit of red eye from the flash and the noise is caused by using a higher ISO but nothing that wouldn't be expected in these conditions.

5 Missed focus.

6 Same as 2 and 3.

7 No major issues here, colour might be a bit off but without seeing the exif (data embedded into the image) then I can't tell if a setting caused this.

what's the best way to share the exif? I right click on the photo & click details but I can't seem to copy & paste that info. I also have PE7 if there's a way to get the exif from there.

Thank you so much for the other comments.

Not an expert on PE7, but the larger photos you post have the exif in them but not the smaller ones. So if you know what you did different then that will get the details in. Someone might be able to shed some more light on this.
