Default NIKON 4300 is a good choise.

I am using 4300 for a short while and very happy with camera.

I bought a slide adapter for this camera and was completely amused by the quality of the pictures which I am getting from my 9 years old slides.

I have tried high quality EPSON Scanner with 3600x3600 resolution before and I can tell you that slide adapter outperform EPSON Scanner in colors fidelity.

Another important difference I noticed is scratches, which are less visible with slide adapter.

4300 is very good small size camera with the features from serious cameras.

Yes, I have an Nikon CP4300, a black one.

I'm happy with it.

I takes great pictures even at automatic mode. Clear and sharp.

It has lots of manual controls .........

Don't forget to buy a extra EN EL1 Battery. :?

Like all cameras this baby is power hungry ....

Good luck and have fun.............

I have a 4300 as well. I love it. The camera has a good feel to it and is easy to hold. As the others said, it takes great picutures. I like how you can take great pictures in fully automatic or use the wealth of menu's to play around if you wish. I wish the shutter lag response time is a bit faster, but it is tolerable. Only thing I don't like is how quickly the battery goes. Buy you a spare though and big deal.
