Default 5700 VIewfinder Focus Ques

I have a 995 and can't see whether my objects are in focus in the LCD screen outdoors. The result is I have several pictures from last week's vacation where the people are blurry but the background is in focus.

Will I be able to see if the subjects are in focus using the 5700 viewfinder? And is it readable in sunlight?

Can answer my own question now. Went out to camera store and checked it out. I love that viewfinder - the 995 will be sold. Good fortune brought out bright sunlight when I visited the store and I could see my subject no matter what direction I faced. And I could clearly see when the subject was in focus. While this camera has more features (mp, tele, hotshoe, etc.) than the 995 they pale beside the improved shooting experience of using that viewfinder.
