Default coolpix 5700

Hello everyone,

new to this forum. I know it is an old camera, and not many have it nowdays, but still... I have it and got it fixed as the issue with the CCD apeared. But have another problem and is like this:

I can't access the menu,function or mode...
i uploaded 1.1 version, still no difference. It shoots constantly in P mode, and no other is possible. it works like it has only one setting.

any help would be much appreciated.

Could the menu be appearing in the view finder instead of the LCD?

With the camera in camera mode press and hold the FUNC button and check for a CA, C1, C2, C3 in the upper right corner of the top LCD. If you are in CA function most menu and mode changes are blocked. Change the FUNC to C1/2/3 to allow user modifications.

Thanks for the reply.
I tried all things with this three buttons, and nothing would happen. also no menu in the viewfinder. The display works normally. This functions C/1/2/3 i can't seem to get to. When i tried the rotation button in the view, it worked, when i tried func+rotate, nothing happens in the shooter mode. thanks for the brainstorm

tried, still nothing. buttons func/menu just won't work with me. is it possible that some of the electronic died? But why normal update if this would be the case, and why no error is shown? is there any other internal battery in this cam?

There is a clock battery that charges off the main battery.

Did the camera operate properly after it was returned for the CCD issue? They may not have plugged a cable back properly or it fell out later.

no, it was the same issue. One day it just occured. So when i saw that ccd can be replaced for free, i took it. Before it was just standing in the closet and i put the battery out. It was like this for app. 6 months. Turning it on, the clock is flashing in the middle of the screen. Could this battery be the issue?
thx

So this problem occurred before the CCD was replaced and wasn't repaired when you sent it in? Also every time you turn the camera on you get the set clock prompt?
