Default Low light focus

This may help some of you having low light focus problems. My camera is an old 885. In manual mode, I use the "fill flash white balance" setting, and usually get a fairly easy focus in some relatively low light situations. Don't really know why this works better than some of the other manual options, but it does work for me. I imagine it will work for other Coolpix models too. You can disable the flash if you want, and make the appropriate aperture and shutter speed adjustments, but will probably need a tripod. Another trick is to use the Museum, or Night Landscape setting in the scene mode, but you'll need a tri-pod for these too, and generally, the white balance is off when using the scene mode settings. Good luck!
