Default Coolpix 6300 help with discs, please

Bought a new Nikon Coolpix 6300.

I put the disc marked ViewNX2 in and let it run. Eventually, it restarted the computer.

Now what? I don't see a new icon on my desktop. When I look in Programs, there are several new Nikon files, nothing seems to say Download photos (which is what I want to do!)

I have the USB wire, can not find where to put that in the camera.

I removed the memory card and put that in my computer slot - prowling around with NO instructions I did see my photos, no info on how to download them to my computer.

Obviously, I am missing something! How do I download my photos to my computer please?

NB - this is replacing my Canon A560 -- that software has an icon on my desktop, I can plug the cord in to the camera and then in to the computer, turn on the camera and the software takes over. So this is what I am used to.

Thank you for any and all help!

OK I figured it out.

I am trying to load it onto my laptop, so I have to change to 32 bit, not the 64 bit. Think it will work, now.
