Default Nikon 5700/G54 Comparisons and Fat32 Q

There is now a rebate on it an I am comparing it against the g5.

$399 after rebate for the 5700 are the price is aorund the same for the G5....

What would happen if I put a 4 GB drive into the system that does not know fat32? Would I only be able to see a portion of it?
The way I see it I have a backorder placed for an 4 gb mp4 microdrive mp3 player for 200 or I can buy a 1 GB IBM microdrive for $150.... I would much rather buy the 4 even if I can only use a portion of it for now. Perhaps I can use the rest in anther camera later down the road...
Thanks!

I was going to buy the G5, but they talked about the purple fringing on that camera in reveiws. I used the G5 and 5700 and I found that the 5700 took better pictures. I am so used to the menu's on the 5700 now and can change my settings pretty quickly. Not to mention the zoom on the 5700 is better than the G5. It was very handy went I went to the Bronx Zoo on Saturday and I was able to zoom up on birds, tigers, and other animals. I took great pictures. Not to mention it was cloudy when I first got there. I went to the White Balance and picked cloudy, and it nicely enhanced the pictures. When it got sunny in the afternoon, I went to the automatic on white balance and again it perfected the photos.

Please bear in mind I have a Canon Elan which I still love. However I became a Nikon lover and will never go back.

Thanks -I read some differences between the 5400 and the 5700

With the factory rebate now in play they are both the same price.. arg 5400 is newer better for close ups 5700 is older has 8x etc

However some places there is only a $180 differnece between that an the 8700.

Of course I could pocket the difference for a 1 GB flash card for $150 or wait for the $200 4 GB microdrive mp3 player to come off of back order...

What to do what to do?

1 GB Takes what 328 Photos? Unles you ant to take all pictures in raw mode which is annoyingly slow...
