Default 4500 RAW Enabler

Does anyone have any experience using the RAW enabler for 4500?

Any suggestions/warnings?

Thanks

Default wow. I love RAW!

I decided to go ahead and take the plunge into the RAW world.

I enabled RAW on my coolpix 4500, took a photo. It produces 2 photos - a RAW and the one you have the setting on - in my case, JPG Fine. I took the photo it created and converted it to PPM. I then loaded the PPM into Photoshop via Richard Rosenman's Portable PixMap (free).

Here are my results:

The JPG version (white balance was set to incandescent, ISO 100, no sharpening, saturation on normal, Image Adjustment on normal, no sharpening, no flash)

The RAW version (RAW has no in-camera post processing)

Both images were Save For Web JPG 100%, Image Size 25%.

Here is the RAW version with 3 copies on top - each set to Screen Blending Mode.

True - I should have manually set the white balance instead of leaving it on incandescent or at least set it to cloudy or daylight... but I love the idea that my post processing isn't in addition to a post processed image and I am working with the original.
