Okay all is forgiven. Thanks for the review. Strange - but it hasn't really helped me decide between the 5200 and Sony's W1. Any one care to advise me what they think is the best??! Please!

Just went for it. Review for W1 and 5200 pretty similar - "great all round camera". And 5200 is way more a pleasure to hold. Got it with 128mb card for 450 US. Not bad eh?

O.K. Tell us what you think of it. I came down to the same two choices and haven't made a decision, yet.

Yes, please tell us what you think of the 5200 Blackbird...

I tested the Fuji F700 and will give back the Canon Powershot S1 IS too... am now down to:

- Nikon 5200

- Sony W1

- Canon S60

in my hunt ...

I have the exact same dilemna, coming from a Nikon 885, which I am NOT happy with , I am looking at the following:

Sony W1
Nikon 5200
Canon S60

Any others make a decision that they are happy or unhappy with?

Take the Nikon 5200 if you want a fast, small and the best grip camera

Take the Sony W1 if you want a little faster camera with a large display but no manual white balance setting.

Take the Canon if you want full manual control, but somewhat larger camera.

Sony and canon have higher resolution pictures but more purple fringing and artifacts

Nikon has softer images, but no purple fringing and artifacts.
