I have read about it and expierienced it. It locks up when its writing an image to the card. it has hapened 3 times to me so far in the images I have taken since yesterday. Is it quite a frequent occurent problem with this camera.?

is it fixed in the new firmware?

I did some searching on this. Some users report that they've never experienced the lockup problems.Others report that they do, but it occurs infrequently. My best guess is that it's media related.

You may want to try a different CompactFlash card to see if the symptoms persist. I'd also make sure to format your media with the camera menus, too (if you haven't already tried this).

As far as Firmware Version 1.4, I do see some posts from users indicating that the menus are more responsive when the camera is writing to CompactFlash (but this is probably very subjective unless someone actually tries to measure it before and after the upgrade).

I have had the same problem with the 5400. I don't think the cards are the problem since I never hadlockup with my 5000 and experienced lockup when I started using the same cards with the 5400.

The problem occurs about once in a heavy shooting day (about 500 shots or more)
