Hi everyone,

I am thinking of buying a Coolpix 8800, but before I do I would like to see some photos. I have the coolpix 4500 at the moment, but I am intrigued by the 10x zoom of the 8800.

Any link to photos would be appriciated.

Thank you all in advance

Frailea123:-)

No offense meant to the photos here on the 8800. Is it just me or do they all seem just a hair soft on focus? I looked at the photos in the other post as well and thought the same too. I have one of these coming in the next couple of days and this concerns me. I am using a Kodak 7590 right now and I am used to seeing pristine clarity and excellent color saturation with it at 5 mp and half the price of this 8800 I just ordered.

Hi trtjazz,

Welcome to the forum

Re your kodak cam v. 8800.

I would suggest you do same photo comparisons with sharpness, etc set the same in both cams then post them .

Hopefully, you have x number of days to return your 8800 if you choose to do so.

I, too, am considering the 8800.

Hi Terry and Digicamfan,

I thought same of the photos might have been croppedand maybe were too blown upbecause that.

Some were really excellent. I have seen some others, I have to see if I can retrieve the URL.

I appriciate all your help, my final decision to buy one will have to wait until after Steve has done a review of retail 8800 and hopefully posts some photos. Before I bought my coolpix 4500 I made my mind up after I read his review:-)

keep the photos coming

Greetings from

Frailea

Gorgeous macro, Frailea123!

Your different perspective...showcases your photographic "vision".

digi

Thanks for the welcome and actually I've been over in the Kodak section for awhile, but started hangin' here too, because of the 8800 coming today.

I am going to test them both this weekend, with exact same shots and see what I come up with. I will post some pics later this weekend if all goes according to plan.
