I currently have an Olumpus C2100,, 10X zoom and B300 1.7X teleconverter... I have been considering purchasing the 8800 to replace my old Olympus.. I want too be able too use my B300 1.7X teleconverter ( 55MM threads ) on the 8800.... Can someone tell me what kind,, brand,, or whatever adapterI could purchase in order too use my teleconverter on the 8800 ?? Thanks in advance for any assistance....

This (below) recently posted elsewhere on the Nikon forum.

Here is a response from Nikon tech support as of 12/2/2004.

Hello: Thread count and diameter are Nikon proprietary information that we cannot release to the public. The 8800 mounts filters on the adapter that slips over the lens assembly. Nikon cannot support or recommend any 3rd party filter sets for our cameras as they can damage the camera itself.
