I'm new to the Nikon camp, and I bought the 5200 as a little carry around camera...

Anyway, I have 2 blue sofas in my lounge, and taking a very quick picture of them (NO flash, Incandescent light, AUTO white balance) resulted in purple sofas!

Then I noticed if I leave the camera 'looking' at the sofas, the white balancegradually kicks in, until they look blue again (nice!)

Question is: Camera takes 5-10 seconds to complete the white balance adjustment - is this normal?? seems a little long to me...

Tried the same thing with a Pentax S4i, which took around 2 secs to adjust

No one with this camera can try this? Indoors (dark outdoors!), just start up and watch the white balance?
