Default LCD turns itself off when the flash lamp is recharging

I just recieved my CP 4300 today. When taking pictures using the flash, the LCD will turn itself off when the flash lamp is recharging. The battery was half full during that period. Is this a power saving feature or a defect in the camera?

Many of the new digicams temporarily shut down the color LCD while the flash capacitor is being recharged, this is normal. They are doing their best to extend the battery life - you couldn't take a picture during the flash-charging phase anyway so ...

I agree with Steve.
Read in the manual book, they said that's only happend when battery power under 50%.
