I'm trying to solve a problem with a Coolpix 3100. It turns on just fine, takes a photo, the green light (writing to card) comes on and flashes, but then never stops. No buttons function, no image written. The photo displays in the lcd, but if you remove battery to kill it, start it again, there is no image on the memory card. New alkaline batteries tried, newly recharged LiMH batteries tried, formatted the memory card. Nothing helps.

Any ideas anyone?

I just did that. Memory card that works fine in a Coolpix 950 and still doesn't work in the 3100. Any other ideas?
