Just purchased the 8800 and is it me or does their manual leave a lot to be desired. I don't think it explains things very good at all. I' trying to find out if it has modes for action, portrit, landscape, but can't find anything on it. Maybe it doesn't have simple modes like that. Other cameras I've seen has a dial you turn it to a skier for action, picture of a head for protrit, and picture of mountians forlandscape.

I see in themanual they will talk about somthing but not tell you how to get there or how to find it Etc. Seemsdifficult tome, or am I just dumb?

Look in the index that is a main feature of the camera. On the mode dial there is a selection for SCENE. Select it and then choose what conditions that you're shooting in.
