Default Kool price on mp3 player and 340meg Microdrive

There is a promotion going on between IBM and e.Digital where you can buy an mp3 player (mxp 100) with a 340 meg Microdrive for $125.

http://www.storage.ibm.com/hdd/press/micro/20020816.htm

The lowest price I have found for the microdrive is $99. That means you get the mp3 player for $26. I put the microdrive in my 5700 and put one of my old 64 meg CF cards in the player. Now I have storage and tunes!

I can sure use a CF MP3 player as well!

How many images can you capture with this microdrive? You didn't have any problems with this microdrive in your CP5700? After checking out the website, I am thinking about ordering this myself. Thanks for the info!

My CP5700 reports 145 pictures available in FINE and 257 in NORMAL mode with the 340meg microdrive. I have not seen any issues with this drive. I went to the beach on tuesday and took about 50 pictures and a 60sec movie with no problems.

I just purchased the microdrive/MP3 combo and received it about 4 days after my online order! Great service. In surving the site, they also have refurbished players with 512 GB microdrives for $149 if you want more space. The player is actually pretty nice and doubles as a digital dictaphone!

Same here, actually I end up leaving the microdrive in the e.Digital and use it as MP3 player. It's just like a camera with the convenience of the microdrive: I uploaded close to 10 CDs with still room to spare. I also really like the graphic displays and it's customable equalizer modes (the rotary wheel works just like my old Agfa 1680!... up/down and push to select)

BTW that built-in battery seems to last forever...
