Hello from the UK

Just thought I would say hello and show you my first batch of pictures from my new 8800.

http://www.theparkestate.com/galleryalbum63.html

I'm suprised by the ammount of negative comments about this camera as it has worked well for me. I think I would never have bought it if I had read this forum beforehand.

Hi Paul. Thanks for posting your pics. An eclectic variety and very nice, too. I like your close ups !

Like you, I bought the camera first and discovered this site afterwards. I am also with you in that I really like my camera. There have been some legitimate critiques of the weaker points of the camera, and then a few people with an almost fanatical need to slam the 8800 . It's nice to see new posts from people who are using the camera and are happy with it.

I really enjoyed Nottingham Castle. I half expect Richard Green (?) to leap out with Friar Tuck, but maybe you aren't old enough to remember that tv show.

Regards, Steve

...and Little John... played by... um... forget it... we're old people.

Fern Shoot is brilliant... excellent bokeh.

Ernest appears to have something of the psycho about him... I admire that in a cat.

Hi Paul,

That Close-up of Ernest is brilliant, you can see every hair. I am a cat fan anyway:-).

Have you got any more of him.

I am playing the waiting game here at the moment. I am waiting to buy the 8800 at the right price for me here in England; on Dealtime this camera is getting lower in price every day. I wonder if there is another new Nikon on its way to take its place?

The other waiting I am doing, is looking for another cat. My Lucy died at the end of November and I miss having a cat in the house.

I will have to get another digital camera before the summer, I am planning to take my parent to Cornwall.

greetings from

Angie

Hi Angie

No more pictures of Ernest at the moment, or at least no interesting ones as he usually turns his back on the camera.

Don't tell me about any cheap deals on the 8800, I don't want to hear it! :-)

As for camera prices I promise I won't tell you how much they are at moment. :-)

Greetings from

Hi Angie

Sorry to hear about your cat, but 14 is a pretty good innings.

Ernestis 2, so hopefully he will go on for ages. We did have his brother, Clawson,as well but they don't get on well together and Clawsonhas found himself another home.
