Ok I got a question to ask about cable release cord for Nikon 5700. 18 months ago I decided to get the harbortronics attachment so I could use the generic Canon EOS remote without having to spend over $200 AUD. This device lasted in my camera for all of 8 months and from what I've heard the remotes made for this camera are pretty much the same....ie don't last long. Does anyone know of any other way I can attach a cable release shutter, I've seen the fuji s7000 and it has a attachment built into the shutter button and from recall the button's look similar in size to the Nikon. If I could get my hands on any shutter button with the thread built in, what would your opinions be to say how would they work. (and why didn't nikon build threads into the buttons in the first place as much less could go wrong and a cheaper alternative)
I mainly just want to use it for Lightning photography, just to hold the shutter down to benefit with bulb. Timer is useless when it comes to this photography.
All bascially i want to do is just use a mechanical cable shutter and there has to be a way around the problem!
