Anyone have problems with Nikon needing repairs after on a very few years of use? My Coolpix 4700, owned it and very, very gently used since 2002, suddenly won't turn on....Nikon says $270 to repair the on switch. Seems a bit steep. Then I recall that a Nikon N-70 I bought for my son suddenly need $250 in repairs after a single year of use - - obviously, it's still in a box somewhere broken..... A trend here? I'm a bit worried about that D-70 I just bought. Extended warranties suddenly sound like a deal. Anybody had recent experience with such seemingly short lifespan!? Should I seek a local repair shop to revive the 4700 which I really like when it's working!
