is there a limit on how large a CF card can be for a CP950.

im using lexar 64M 8x cards and i see much larger cards advertised.

i believe the old Nikon website states 64M.

It can use -any- size CF card up to 512MB and probably the 1GB size too. I've personally used 256MB and 320MB CF cards in a 950.

I got a 192 MB CF card for my 950 when I bought the camera nearly three years ago. I have added a 256 MB since. Both work fine. I haven't tried anything larger, but with the relatively small file size for 2 megapixels, 256 MB seems like it should be adequate for most purposes. Using JPEG fine, I get about 270 pix on the 256 MB card.
If you use the uncompressed TIFF format, the images are 5.6 MB, which would limit you to about 45 shots. However, the write time on the 950 is pretty slow, so you will have to be pretty patient. I tried it. It takes FOREVER! The 950 has good...but not great optics. I think the TIFF format is an overkill for this camera, personally. I took some identical shots in JPEG FINE and TIFF and I had to blow them WAY up in Photoshop to see any difference.
Well, that's my opinion. Others may disagree. Your mileage may differ....
