I have tried in the Flash index to no avail so will try here. Regarding the sb-22 flash- on the section that swivels as to take a bounce flash, on one side there are markings to indicate the amount of degrees the flash is set at. On the other side there is a button that reads -push- . Can anyone enlighten me as to what this buttons purpose is?

Found out for myself I think. When the flash is rotated beyond a certain point this button pops out and activates the bounce indicator on the rear of the flash. This would make aware to the user of the rotate position. My BOUNCE light is defective <does not work> hence the confusion.

With the flash head rotated to the vertical position, this button releases the latch so the "diffuser" screen can be slid out to cover the face of the flash. Mine is an SB22s, but I think they are the same on both units. Cheers...BC
