Default Best Shot Selector worth it?

Can anyone out there give me their opinions on how useful Best Shot Selector is? With the 8x on the CP5700, does it make up for not using a tripod, or is one still necessary? If you like it, when do you use it?

In theory, one of the group of pictures could be at the top or bottom of hand enduced bounce and therefor yield a crisp picture... or is that just a good theory? I've never used it, so I wonder.

I've used the feature several times and like it quite much. But it's really a difficult question to answer as you never sees the shots that the camera skips.

I often use it for i.e actionsshots, carrace, biking a.s.o - it' much easier this way to get a sharp shot.

You just hold the tricker down and keep it there!
