Default CP4500 & External Flash

Hello folks, my first post.
I went shopping yesterday for a flash to use with my CP4500 and was told that I must also spend $160 cdn for a bracket and I was wondering if this is true or if there is a way around it. I don't want to spend $360 to use a $200 flash. Thanks in advance.

The cp4500 has no flash shoe so you must use the Nikon flash cable / hot shoe adapter and some kind of bracket. See my reviews of several here:

Thanks Steve for you speedy reply. I'm sure the AS-E900 doesn't cost $160, and I have a bracket that would be adequate for my useage.
Excellent resource you have here, thanks again.
