Happy new year Klaus, we do too. I wonder when the time will come. But I am shure after this reply that there will be an update.

In a Yahoo group dedicated to 5700 owners there was a stray poll done and low and behold one person who just bought their camera reported a firmware version of 1.1. So perhaps... there's hope for Nikon help with some of our focusing trouble. Mine is a version 1.
You can find out you version number by turning on the camera while holding the menu button down. It should read E5700V1. 0
or E5700V1. 1 for the newer firmware...

Hmmmmmmmm.....

Interesting

Thanks for tip.

So, now the big question is...

For all of us holding 5700 w/firmware v 1.0, how do we
update?

Anybody know?

Just spoke to a Nikon tech.

She said they have "no firmware update" for the 5700.

Web site after some navigation reflects the same.

Hmmmmmmm........

The plot thickens!

Anybody else?

I read in the dpreview board that some people had a Nikon 4500 with Firmware 1.2. Actual is 1.1. I remember the user was from Hong Kong.
