Default Sending Pics...What File Size?

Hey Gang:

So far when sending pics to friends, etc., they're going out reduced to 1280 pixels in width. This fills the e-mail window nicely with just a hint of a scroll bar. I realize even this size is on the large side, so my question to everyone is, what about when you want to send out 10, 20, or 30 photos at a time? Nikon View 5 allows you to input any pixel size you want, so what would you suggest? Thanks, all.

You could get a website for photos at www.pbase.com - it's free! Then you will have no concern about filesize. And everybody can watch them.

But if you want to post them yourself, the most important thing is the compressionlevel in JPEG. For monitorviewing you can easily go down to about 70% and still have a great pic to watch. The size IMO should be no larger than 1024 x 768...but I guess that depends on the resolution of the monitor they will be viewed on.

I often sends about 20 pics via e-mail. No problem with that.

Yes Jim I noticed. What a pitty - the best things in life are free...

However it's easy to make a google search on "Free online photoalbum" or check Steve's.

regards
Klaus

No, nothing like pbase. I like the look and the way you are able to show your pics. But I'm using Photosig at this moment. But theres a limit of posting...but if you're in no hurry - (I am) then it's fine.
