Can someone tell me what size the threads are for the 8800 lens? I'd like to buy some filters to use on it....and a step-down/up adapter for my teleadapter.
Thanks
Paula

For some reason, the Cool Pix line seems to have weird thread sizes. I don't know what the actual thread size is, but it must be something nonstandard. Otherwise, you wouldn't see products like you will find at this site: http://www.nextphoto.net/8800.htm
This site offers a number of different thread adapters for using different sized filters with the 8800.
If you Google nikon 8800 accessories, you can find other places offering a variety of adapters for various purposes.
You'd think that Nikon would just put a standard thread on their semi-pro cameras! I don't get it, but apparently they don't care whether I get it or not.
Have fun!

Grant, thank you for that information. I was beginning to think it must be something like that I would be stuck paying higher prices for Nikon's own accessories. Usually it's Sony that "goes it's own way" with non standard things but all my Sony's take standard filters and lens sizes.
