Hi,
A friend has a Coolpix 5700, he's leaving to go on vacation tomorrow, and after using the camera with no problem, all of a sudden it wont shoot. It seems to focus, but when you try to take a shot, nothing. The battery is charged, there's penty of room on the card, any ideas???
I tried to go into the manual to try to find how to reset all the settings to default, but couldn't find anyting telling how to. He doesn't believe he changed any settings, or dropped or bumped it. It worked fine one day, then he turned it on the next day and nothing. Any help by tonight would be great.
Thanks,
Todd:?:

I don't know if settings could be related tothe problem or not. But, there is a RESET ALL menu choice on the second page of the shooting menu. You'll see it shownin the review here:

Have you tried a different CompactFlash Card and Battery yet? If not, and you have access to spares, I'd swap them out to make sureone of them isn't the problem if resetting everything else doesn't solve it.
