My Nikon 5700 seems to like blue. Any white in a less then bright area comes up blue. And photo's with shadow have blue fringing.

I would appriciate any help.

Hi!

I have similar experience with my CP-8800.
I do not notice it on whites but I do notice that with WB=auto grass, for ex.,
is blueish under direct sunlight and even worse in shaded areas (especially
if the frame contains sun-lighted areas which appear then with yellow tint).
In the latter case the picture seems to be oversaturated (in auto-mode) overall
which I do not like either...

One possible solution that works for me, is to set WB=cloudy/shade and
SAT=-1 (low). "Cloudy" compensates for blues less than "shade", but both give
better WB than "auto". You should actually try and decide what is best for you.
Keep in mind, though, that there is no "one solution" for all situations.
You might want to set WB manually (with a white sheet) sometimes.

Good luck!

Any decent photo editor will take out color casts if fiddling with your WB doesn't do the trick. Not as convenient, but hey...
