Default Laser Pointer for Low Light on 5700

I tryed the laser pointer trick for low light shots and it works great. I purchased a key chain laser pointer about 2 inches long for about $10 at Office Max. I took the laser pointer and carefully drilled the opening on the tip a little larger so now the diameter of the lasered spot is about the size of a dime. This gives the camera a little more of an area to focus. You can attach the key size laser minus the key ring to the bottom of the camera by black duck tape or velcro. When you first focus, I usually use a setting with A mode, which I set the aperature and the camera sets the speed. Or you could probably use the full auto mode or manual. I hold the laser button then press half down so the camera can focus on the spot. Once the AF is set, I let go of the laser button and then depress all the way down to take the shot. The shots I took was with the flash. It should work with the flash off, but you may have to use a tripod. I've only had luck up to 6X though. I still couldn't get the camera to focus at the full 8X. Hope this helps.Glenn
