Default Coolpix 5000 with SB-50X and Vertical Shooting

When I shoot vertically, I always end up with the flash on one side of the object. How can I fix this?

Buy a flash bracket. Many flash bracket permits you to shot horizontally and vertically with the flash directly above the camera.
