actually the 5700 did better with the forground depth of field. note the flowering bush.

Why do you suppose that is?
This macro with the 5700 ain't bad either, although some of it is out of focus.

for a camera of this price, it's pretty versatile.

did you shoot both in P ?

could be metering differences with the different lenses.

Default sjma, if you're referring to the Seadoo pics, yes both in P

I almost always use P mode, since I don't know what I'm doing yet, and get so many failed examples when I experiment too much. I do play with S and A priority from time to time, but that's about it for customization...for now.

btw, why did my 1st pic of pollen come as attachment, and the wider shot imbed in the message? I don't recall doing anything different.
