Default 5700 1.1 firmware speed

I want to buy an Nikon 5700 for general use and "action sports"
but I need to know first if the 1.1 firmware improve the AF (speed)
and the Shuttle lag speed". (for action...).

I've had the CP5700. My advice is to forget this camera for sport and actionsshots. The autofocus is too bad for that kind of shooting and will drive you crazy. Instead I would consider Minolta Dimage 7hi.

despite firmware 1.1, cp5700 is poor performer in action shots, action is over before focus is obtained.

Not so..... This camera can do action.
Check out the following...

While they might not qualify for Sports Illustrated, they do show that you can shoot shooters, etc.

The big trick is anticipation and patience. It only took about 100 shots to get these.
