That's great news, Salvin. I always go to techbargains.com to find stackable coupons and other stuff. The free shipping ends on Tuesday, so I may order it.

Well, Salvin. I made the jump and ordered the 3100 today at Dell.com. Techbargains had a stackable coupon and my total price including tax and free shipping was $262.75. Not bad at all. Can't wait to start taking pictures!

Aubrey-

You will have to let me know what you think of your 3100 after you have had the chance to play around with it a bit.

I just bought another one (came in the mail today) because I think that I am going to keep this camera. I would still like to get my hands on a Canon A70 to test the difference. I almost bought one today at a local electronics store but they said they would charge a 15% restocking fee if I decided I didn't like it. Circuit City doesn't carry the A70 otherwise I would have gotten one from there already.

I am going to find an A70 to test against the Nikon, I just have to find it somewhere that has a good return policy. I have 30 days with the Nikon from Dell so we shall see!

If you would like, you can give me your Email address and I will share with you my thoughts on both of them as I test them throughout the next few weeks. - Salvin

Salvin:

You can e-mail me through my profile and then we'll take it from there. I also am interested in the A70 but the price on the Nikon was too good to pass. I'm glad Dell has a good return policy.

To me it comes down to:

A70
Better pictures in low-light due to AF assist lamp
Sound in movie clips
Lots of manual settings

3100
Better sharpness and color
Excellent choice of scene modes
No sound in movie clips
Best shot selector

It sort of evens out. We'll see, maybe I'll get the 4300?
