Default stupid Nikon????

I'm trying to update the firmware on my Nikon 990.
I have to have "updater" program to do this...well, at the Nikon website they only have available for download the "update" to the Updater!!!! NOT the full version!!

Is this stupid or what??

So, ,,,, where can I get the full version so I can complete my firmware upgrade???

thanks!!

Default Try...

this- on the 995 it can be done with the CF card. If you have a card reader on your computer, make a directory on the Cf card called firmware. Copy the new firmware into that directory. Place the Cf card in the camera and turn it on- in the case of the 995, it would find the firmware and load it on it's own. Afterwards, format the card in the camera to remove the directory and file so it won't try it again.

Also, use an AC adaptor if you have one, or FRESH batteries- mine refused to load until it had fresh batteries. (Nikon mentioned this fact, but I ignored them, and it wouldn't work until I did!)

At least that's how I remembered doing it, but it's been a while.

Good luck

Tim

There haven't been any firmware updates for the 995, have there? The Nikon site doesn't show any.
