Default CP 4500: noise made by the lens?

Hi, all:

I just bought a new CP 4500 a couple of days ago. Up to now, I am statisfied with everything else, except for the noisy sound made by the lens when I set the auto focus mode. It seems like the lens can not strech and withdraw smoothly, and you can easily notice the sound, something like "kaka...".

I am not sure whether it's normal or not. Does anyone else have the same experience :?:

This is normal. It's the constant focus adjustment of the lens. One way to eliminate the noise is select the mode where there is no constant focusing and only focus at the time you press the shutter.

This may make the camera a little slow in response depending on how far it has to move the lens to get things in focus. With constant focusing, it's only a small movement away from a perfect focus. The choice is yours but don't worry abou the noise. Your camera is not broken.

You should also note that continuous auto-focus will flatten your battery very quickly.
