Default What brand of batteries in the MH-70 charger?

I just got the Nikon Coolpix 2100 and im planning to get a new
set of spare batteries, but its stated in the coolpix handbook that you can only use their own brand of Nikon batteries in their MH-70 charger.
Is this true or false!? The same question applies to the question of their EH-61 AC adapter can i use something else instead?

I hope you can help me.

Mr. Lobbot:

I would agree to get the A/C adapter from Nikon, but I don't think it's necessary to restrict yourself to Nikon batteries and the Nikon charger.

Click on the link below. I ordered from these guys today. The batteries are very high rated almost everywhere.

Good luck!
