Default Good News ... Bway Photo

Just received my 5700. From Bway Photo. About 1250 .. with one day shipping (FEDEX), 5 yr warranty. Includes all parts including the MH3 battery charger.

My only complaint is that the listed 829 price is a bit of a come on ... but really not that bad if you want to save money ...by foregoing a warranty (bad idea on a grey market camera) and no battery charger ... but you CAN buy an excellent third party charger from Maha (I have heard it is about $75. They also DO try to talk you into accessories at high "sale" prices but caveat emptor.

Bottom line .. if yu know what you are doping and what you want, this is a great deal!

Default repairs to Grey market camera

I checked this thoroughly, IF you buy a warrnaty form a good repair service, then that service can get Nikin parts for grey market cameras.

Just to let you all know. The camera arrived today with the Mack warrantee. They had only two hitches, one it was delayed one day for overnight and they had to back order the microdrive. Everything is as they said it would be and the warning about buying accessories is true they are overpriced. I have had no problem with Alien.
The problem I am having now is the long learning curve. The camera feels much more compact that I expected and the screen is a bit small but I am still learning.
I do not know what experiences people have had with Alien, B&H, Broadway etc. but mine has been o.k.

I just ordered my 5700 from Henrys Photo of Toronto Canada. It comes with the usual 1 year warranty from Nikon Canada. Its the same as the US warrenty, if it has to be repaired I send it to Nikon Canada instead of Melville New York. The Nikon tech support is still an 800 number but its in Canada.
The price I paid for it was approx $1250
s/h included. It will arrive early next week which I'm very happy because I already sold my 5000.
