Default nikon 5700 grey market buy

I have no experience with grey market items. Alien Photo sold me a 5700 for $720 but because it was grey market I bot a 5 year warrantee for $199 from Mack Camera. Spoke with Mack Camera first and they verified that turn around would be about a month and the warrantee was legit. Alien has a 14 day return policy for defective cameras with a exchange arrangement. The camera is supposed to come tomorrow on overnight but I was wondering does anyone have experience with gray markets and warrantees. I was told that the 5700 U.S. would not be available for about 6-8 weeks.

Please let us know how you come out. I have bought a lot of grey market cameras/lenses, and the price you quote sounds incredibly low. Is it in the factory sealed box? If I could really get a 5700 for under $800, I'd jump at it.

Thank you for the report. I am interested in buying one.

WOW!

I just went to that web site. Those prices are low.

How can they get it that low? What is a grey market. If I can get the 5700 for that price then I getting it.

Tell us what happens.

Default Do NOT buy from Alien Photo!!

If a price seems too low, it means it is grey market and probably has been stripped of all accessories, which they will gladly sell back to you for a very inflated price! See the following posts....

Stay away from Alien, they operate under many different business names.

Check out the first link especially.

Default Grey Market

At dpreview.com Nikon forum, several said that if you buy grey mkt. cameras you have to have them serviced and repaired in the courntry of origin. Nikon USA will not repair them.
