While looking around to see how I could help speed up the write times on my 1 GB Sandisk Ultra II card in my 8800,I came across an article on partitioning a* large card using Unix.Well, I use a Powermac G4 computer, and found out OS X Tiger will format these CF cards with Disk Utility. I plugged my cardinto my Belkin 15 in 1 card reader.*The trouble is, after partitioning the 1 Gig into two 512 MBparts, I noticed no speed increase in writing time. Also I found no way to access the 2nd partition in the camera. But it got me thinking about formatting. So I used the option "Erase Free Space" and did a low-level format.Hey, it took a while, about 18 minutes, but then there was a small improvement in writing time, a half second or more. I'd had the card for a year, and just reformatted it in the camera again to unpartition it, and it works great.-Kit
