Default Two problems with Coolpix 4300

I have had my camera for a while now, but haven't addressed these problems yet. First: The camera won't take a picture with the monitor off. It first will take about 3 seconds before it begins to focus, and then i press the shutter all the way down and it just cancels it. I get 2 maybe 3 sometimes with the monitor off, but other than that, it just wont take the picture. Second: Some colors in sunsets are way off in auto and scene modes (especially with whites)

Help would be appreciated.

Check out the following:

You may find your answer there. I did notice on my 4300 that there was a three second shutter delay with the monitor off. I have decided that the camera works better and is more responsive with the monitor left on. The shutter delay can be shortened a bit if you use one of the recommended CF cards.
