I still have/use and like my uz but have a minor problem.
When I set it for max. quality images when I leave the menue it reverts to the quality just under the max. BiLL :? |

Bill-
I own the C-2100. I have not used it in awhile. I will pull it out and make a check for you. I believe that it slips out of SHG and into HG when you power off. That, I believe is cured in the setup menu. I will check and let you know. MT |

Hi Bill. If MT doesn't solve your problem I'll try to help. I'm still using my Oly C-2100 and think it's still one of the best cameras around. I'm about to post a picture of a butterfly that I made this afternoon with it.

My 2100 is rapidly approaching 20,000 images recorded. It still takes better quality images than any of the 3 and 4 meg super zooms I have tried - it's a truly amazing camera...
---- Anyway the camera is not supposed to change the image quality settings except by command. But it sounds like it's not working this way. You might try this: While in record mode, select MENU and scroll to PAGE 5. Then go to MODE SETUP > SETUP > OK At the top of PAGE 1 in the SETUP menu is ALL RESET. From this make sure OFF is selected (not ON or CUSTOM). Also, when you power up the camera make sure you do move the power switch past "on" to "reset". This will also cause the image quality to reset to HQ. Good luck! |

I was alsoabout to suggest checking to see if the "all reset" was turned off. Page 148 in the owner's manual. Let us know if this is the problem.

Thanks all of you :-)
I think the 2100uz is great but.................. I have converted to a Kodak dx7444 with 4mega pix and a 4x optical zoom, no stabalizer but a great optical view finder. I like bird watching so I keep my oly for those long shots and I have the oly 1.4 extender that makes it hard to totally say good-bye to. BiLL :| |

I just bought the B-300 lens by olympus 2 weeks ago. Shot this back when it was warm.
The shot was just hand held. Just too cold to get outside tonight for a full moon photo. The camera is still a great shooter. |
