Did you try connecting to a different usb port on the desktop? It shouldn't matter, but I find that my printer is recognized on one pair of usb's but not always on the other pair.

Well, I was able to get the pix off the camera by connecting the camera to my laptop. It worked fine there. For some reason it would not work with the desktop. Does anyone know if there is anything I can re-install to get the USB Autoconnect working for this?
Have you tried using System Restore? XPperiodically takes snapshots of your configuration automatically, and you can usually restore your computer to any of these setpoints, up to about 2 weeks ago. Give it a try, and if it doesn't help you can always undo the restore.

Well, that did it!, Thanks for the tip on the rollback. Not sure what changed, but it worked. The only thing I can think of it I had used the card reader on my PC to download some images off a compactflash. Is there some limitation on how many devices can look like a diskdrive on USB? (or something like that...)
