Hi,does anyone know when you activate the the self timer on the C4000Z camera, does the camera auto focus on the subject the instant that you activate the shuter button,or does the camera focus just before the camera shutter operates. I think that the camera focus when the shutter button is pressed to start the self timer, but I am not sure. Thanks.

You can't hear when the focusing takes place?
I know with my C-700 it's when you press the shutter button down (which isn't great for when you're trying to do a self-portrait). |

With the C-4000z, with self timer photographs there is no focusing after activating the shutter release, even with Fulltime AF on.

Same with the C3020--focus occurs when you press the shutter release button to start the self timer.
